Well, perhaps this land didn't live up to the promise that the Recce provided when not one but two silver denarius and a fibula came up in a short space of time. However, that said, there was a total of 3 fibulas and a probable Roman grot amongst other items on the day.
However, 'Find of the Day' must go to Guy Gordon who found this beautiful Anglo-Saxon 7th-9th Century carved plate brooch. In addition, Guy did exceptionally well to extract it from the ground without damaging it further, given it's delicate condition. Well saved Guy, a truly impressive find.
