17th March - Wyre Forest

What a fantastic day! It may have been heavy going underfoot, but the sun came out and the detecting gods did not disappoint! We had four fibulas, hammered & enough silver and copper coins to fill a Pirates chest! There were so many incredible finds it was hard to single one out as "Find of the Day', but we have! Firstly mentions to Heath for his beautiful Silver Denarius - Antoninus Pius ( 138 ). Ulverlei Russell for what appears to be a lovely silver book/page clasp. Of the Fibulas, Debbie Robinson's takes some beating! However, Find of the Day goes to John Grizzly for his barrel lock. Such lovely condition, its uniqueness and rarity gives it Number One spot! Congratulations John! Finally well done to everyone on your finds on such a memorable day.
