Well, I hardly know where to begin! Roman, Saxon, Medieval, Tudor, Georgian, Victorian....take your pick. These fields had it all. A dozen silver coins in all, including the hammered. Countless copper coins and yes, even a gold coin. Fibula's, seal's, a dagger pommel, a gold ring.....buckles and a shop full of buttons. I get as much pleasure from seeing others make glorious finds as if I were making them myself! Congratulations to everyone.
There has to be a 'Find of the Day' & under any other circumstances it would be Rodger Norman's 1824 George IIII gold sovereign. However, such was this dig that it was eclipsed if only in rarity by Martin Carl's 'Edward the Confessor' AD1042 - 1066. Just a beautiful coin in super condition. Well done both & well saved!
